Souillac en Jazz
Week long jazz festival in this pretty town
An international jazz festival, attracting musicians from the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas, as well as encouraging talent closer to home.
Concerts are held in the Grottes de Lacave (caves), town squares, and the abbey church, with festivities often spilling out onto the streets. Expect music, exhibitions, films and workshops. The festival is committed to its mission to bring culture in a rural setting.
During the day the OFF festival makes its way onto the streets and performs free concerts.
Venue
Various venues around the town of Souillac.
History
Taking place every year since 1976, when the headliners were national, but more often than not regional musicians. Since it's first year it has worked to keep developing its programme of artists, and now many international jazz acts grace the stage and liven up the evenings in July.
