Christmas Market, Sarlat-la-Caneda
Village de Noel, festive fun in the centre of Sarlat
This annual market celebrates all things Christmas here in Sarlat-la-Caneda. With stalls, an ice rink, food and drink, this should really get you in the festive mood. This year, the theme is 'So British!'.
Throughout the month of December there will be up to 40 wooden chalets selling arts and crafts; numerous entertainments, as well as a free play area for children, bringing colour and warmth to the town. The Christmas village, made up of forty-two charming chalets set up around the ice skating rink, opens its doors to the public in December.
The village showcases the work of craftsmen from all over France who come to exhibit their wares in the medieval city. A variety of goods are on offer to provide you with unforgettable gift ideas. Gourmets will appreciate the many products to be enjoyed on site or taken away.
A tavern at the heart of the market welcomes ice skaters and shoppers in search of a cup of cheer or a light snack. As you warm up with a mulled wine or Christmas beer, your heart will also be warmed by the festive atmosphere and enchanting holiday décor.
A number of free activities for children are held on the weekends and on Wednesdays. A toys-and-games library is open on weekends and throughout the Christmas holidays. Children also enjoy circus acts, magic shows and concerts, and – on December 24th while they await Father Christmas – a magical Christmas story reading.
