Wonderful markets featuring the best of Perigord produce
Gluttony is a positive quality in Perigueux and the Marchés au Gras will encourage you to taste some of the best of the Perigord gastronomy.
Featuring geese, duck, foie gras, truffles and a very special Perigueux Pâté you will be surrounded by the wonderful sights and smells of this region, giving you the full flavour of the festive season.
Périgueux, the capital of Périgord, brings together the ultimate of winter cuisine in the heart of the old town. The Place Saint-Louis is the traditional market setting for all things 'Gras' while the old Hotel de Ville welcomes you to sample the regions truffles. All of this with the traditions of entertainment, music, meetings and surprises to enliven the taste buds of Perigord and tourists in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Where and when
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning from Mid November through until the end of March. These markets are hosted between 08:00 and 12:00 at the place Saint-Louis.
